TRIGGER Intro Video and NEWS

yeah, it seems in the end I couldn't load the demo license on my iLok - I'll give it an another shot tomorrow

can't wait!

Guess I got lucky ;)

how are you gonna just post a screenshot and tease us like that?!?!? lol

how does it work? as well as advertised??

Nope, out of phase hits all over the place. Only the hard samples triggered accurately, anything even a tiny bit less than a full on snare hit was out of phase:

One hit to prove that I lined up the initial sample...

Very next hit on track...

And the next hit...

Bummer, I had high expectations but I knew it was gonna fall short deep down...

Here's two hard hits that were right next to each other later in the song...

Absolutely zero difference in accuracy from Drumagog here...

fail.

knew it was too good to be true. I guess it's good that I only record trigger tracks 99% of the time, haha.

I'll quote my words from another forum:

Before using software try to read manual... Try to learn software before review it.

If you don't want to read manual, you can send me your tracking and I'll tell you TRIGGER settings to trigger your tracking. I'm Reaper user, so I can send you project for Reaper.

BTW, pictures is nothing. We doing music. So next time, upload a sounds examples along with pictures. For instance, set MIX to 50% and render drum track.

Man, I worked with Drumagog for a few years. And when I got TRIGGER I was so fucking happy! If you posting this shit about identical to Drumagog accuracy, then, man - you are totally unprofessional.

Sorry for straightforwardness. Nothing personal...

Dude, it's obvious you registered here just to post that.

1. it's not like we got a manual with this thing to read - it's a DEMO

2. in this case, 'pictures is everything' (nice grammar), because it's proof that the replacement isn't sample accurate.

How the hell is he being unprofessional by posting results? You're being unprofessional by registering for no reason than to rag on Adam.

Adam, thanks for your post but please do a search on PHASE ACCURACY. This means that TRIGGER aligns the phase of the transients, NOT THE START OF THE WAVEFORM. Those photos show nothing. Depending on the sample TRIGGER is using it will arrange it according to the phase accuracy of the two transients.

Please post some AUDIO and you will see that TRIGGER lines up the new sample with the old transient TIGHTER THEN TIGHT!!!

And folks, please try the plugin yourself without making judgements on someone else's screenshots!!!

If you want, I can actually get some phase shots of the transients to show TRIGGER is phase accurate. If the algorithm just lined up the wavesforms, it would not sound tight folks.

TRY THE PLUGIN!

1. This demo contains manual.

2. Check the Slate Digital site and check it for "Sample Accurate" term.

As for "Sample Accurate" term - it's for people, who knows nothing about music production.

Let's say I've recorded high pitched piccolo snare. And I want to replace it with low pitch big woody snare. Any sample accurate drum replacer will make very bad replacement, because original snare have, for instance, 5 ms attack, then peak with 2 ms sustain and then 100 ms release. But that big woody snare have 20 ms attack, then peak with 6 ms sustain and then 500 ms release. Result - you'll get a lot of flamming and phase distortions.

So TRIGGER is not sample accurate. TRIGGER is much better.

Dude, it's obvious you registered here just to post that.
I registered here, because I hate when people reviewing software before they get how to use it. After I got TRIGGER I became its fan, because this thing saving a lot of time for me, so I can use this time to make posts like this )))

P.S. My offer stands. I can do a Reaper project for Adam.

How well does Trigger work with toms? I saw no toms were included in the demo

I using high HPF values + high Input values to trigger toms. Works perfect. But needs some skill from user (as well as triggering of some deep long sustained kick drums). Manual helps very much in triggering setup.

Tom samples are big (100 MB and more per one set). Maybe thats why they were not included in demo.

Slate - do you have an approximate release date for the demos of your mixing/mastering plugins? I'm very interested in those.

I'll be giving Trigger a spin soon on a new album mix I'm doing for a local band as well. I'm actually pretty happy with Drumagog, but previous to now I've been doing outright replacement with it rather than blending (using miked drums, not triggers.) However, the drum tracks I'll be mixing are already very good, so I'm probably going to be blending rather than replacing, so that will be a great test of Trigger.

Hi Kazrog, the mastering plugins will be available soon, they are in beta.

I suggest everyone try TRIGGER, its really an amazing plugin. Again, the technology behind TRIGGER is PHASE ALIGNMENT of the transients, not SAMPLE ALIGNMENT which sounds looser and less punchy for kicks.

So give it a whirl, make sure you are giving the plugin enough signal, and listen for tight and accurate sample replacement. And try the leakage suppression, it rocks!
