TRIGGER Intro Video and NEWS

Only just getting around to downloading the EX samples (haven't done much mixing for a while, plus I'm basically out of hard drive space till a new one turns up!) that I did pick up for the bargain, but I will definitely be taking advantage of the $150 offer. Way to work the marketing, Steven! Also kudos to testing out the 'kick and snare at once' scenario (Lasse and Ermz, incase you didn't see his post about checking it for himself).... that was the only question I really had from the video. Otherwise this looks to deliver on all it's promises.
Definitely looking forward to putting it to work on some very painful tracks I've got from a few years ago!

Some companies reward the customers who pay the most, by offering them more lucrative upgrade paths. It just feels more fair that your investment is being appreciated. And it makes you feel comfortable about returning for more business, because you feel you get what you pay for.

An example is Cakewalk Sonar. The Producer users pay less to upgrade to the latest version of Sonar Producer than Studio users. That instills confidence in the users of the most expensive version, that even though they always pay the most, they also get a cheaper upgrade than if they had bought the cheaper versions of Sonar.

I think many SSD Platinum users now feel like they don't have this trust, because a $350 investment is being devalued to being equal to a $20 investment. I think many also got SSD Platinum just a few months ago.

I'm not sure iLok is a necessarily good thing. Looking at how much cracked stuff of iLok protected software is available, it doesn't seem to protect from piracy at all. And iLok is known to cause troubles and is expensive and ... Yeah, I know challenge/response systems suck as well, but still ...

I'll take ilok over any challenge response nonsense any day. That fucking NI activation center bullshit was infuriating.

I've used the NI activation center to install SSD 3.0 like 4 times now because I've switched machines so often and each and every time it went perfectly smoothly and authorized the very first time... Didn't realize it was that big of a pain for everyone else :erk:

Ya know, I really hate to be the one to start trouble - but screw it, I'm saying it cuz I can't believe nobody else realizes this.

$150 is a wonderful price.............

Unless you're one of us who bought any of the EX expansion pack deals two weeks ago. If you did and you're buying the Trigger Platinum special than you just got duped. Any money you just spent on the expansion packs was a total waste, you're getting every single one of those samples again with Trigger Platinum.

And still no release date?

And I have to buy an ilok?

Not as bad as owning plat and already having everything but the delux stuff they mentioned. You got to see it for what it is: $150 for the trigger plugin and the presets they made that loads the samples.

Yeah man I had a bastard of a time with NI service center. I even had to call them to get it to work (NI, not SSD).

Ok seriously, everyone complaining about the offer Slate has made for Trigger vs what you paid for 2 years, 2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days or 2 hours ago for your goddamn platinum version of whatever ...

shut the fuck up already.

we get it. we all get it. you feel like you got boned. you feel its unfair. why should someone who only paid $20 get the same shit you paid $X for right? Deal with it. For fucking Sneap's sake its all been said enough times on here that everyone has made their point and their feelings understood. Time to move the fuck on already

it happens. Stop raising such a stink over it. it's done, leave it alone

see how annoying it can be when someone keeps repeating the same fucking thought over and over just by slightly changing the wording?

I love you guys but a lot of you really are sounding like a bunch of bitches*

*disclaimer - at no point has any one person been singled out as a "bitch". It is merely the desire of the writer to express his observation of a strong similarity between the behavior of a true bitch and the behavior of some in this thread.

Looks like I'll be buying this when it comes out also. Getting platinum samples + a great drum replacer for around £100? Sounds like a great deal to me!

That exact reason is why I never installed the virtual instrument. Only .gogs here. Soon to be .trigs, or whatever the proprietary format will be

Agreed, you're right. I'm pretty sure I started the whole complaining chain and I'm pretty sure I probably complained more than anyone else here. Although it may not seem like it I'm usually not one to complain about anything, and it's not as though I hoover on the board and bitch and whine left and right, I try to help people whenever I can. I watch alot of other guys here have your moments too though, and I can think of an individual or 2 bashing me and others and defending Slate that were flipping at him just a couple weeks ago for other reasons, so that just makes no sense. I haven't even unzipped the slew of packs I just bought so ya can see why I really feel like I got the shitty end of the stick but it's whatever. Not the end of the world. I was irritated and voiced that and now I'm done and that's the last I'm saying anything about it. FAR worse things have/could happen so in the grand scheme of things it's just peanuts. Getting the full blown version of Trigger for the price of Drumagog's "bottom of the line" is still a good deal any way you look at it.

Hopefully this post doesn't fall into the "repeating the same thing over and over again" category lol. Was just trying to say my sorries.

OT - that tutorial's on it's way soon. Working on it now actually. Another day or 2, maybe even today if I don't get hammered at work (coast looks clear at the moment).

Hm, I never got my passcode from the audiomidi EX deal...

I was hoping I would eventually, since I got a PM from Slate asking for my name and order number but no luck so far.

OK Slate, I have a nice legitimate question. In the Trigger Video, you show bringing in the "first and second" room mics. Assuming the first room mic track is the NRG stereo pair, what is the second mic track you're using? It's labeled "NRGc". What is that?
