TRIGGER Intro Video and NEWS

BTW steve... just a few suggestions for this (yeah allready) maybe enable a group toggle on the dynamic and velocity controls for ALL the sample groups loaded in, as its a bit of a faff having to change it for 3; I admire the level of control, but if you did it as an option to group them, or not; you'd be able to adjust to taste.
just a thought

Everyone should be able to download it by now.. when you get the ilok code, you click the link, sign in, and it redeems it. This does NOT send a license automatically to you ilok account, it works by using the "redeem license" options which the link should automatically do.

So far everyone is pretty much raving about the sample accuracy and detail of TRIGGER in other forums, hopefully once more of you get the demo this will catch on.

Leakage suppression is detailed in the manual, its pretty easy.

There should be 11ms of latency in accurate mode so when you render a track and bring it back to the project, knock off 11ms and you should be perfect.

I like the idea about a global button for the velocity and dynamic controls for all layers, count that one in the next update.

great idea

been trying it out in logic, great accuracy and simple usage IMO

not enjoying the crazy CPU spikes (44100Hz, 24 bit) even though CPU usage seems low.....I tend to only get this kind of problem with cheap or free plugins - I'm guessing there is something with the programming that can improve this. Had to put my buffer size up to full to get decent usage of it (usually I mix on 32 samples as my computer can handle it).

also a bit annoying to have a time limited demo AND functions disabled, I think having one or the other would have been better to get an idea for it.

that said, from what I have used I am more than impressed and will certainly buy this as soon as its available.

great job steven!

ahh.
found it..
the suppression control only appears on a stereo instance of trigger. Not mono- stereo in both Pro tools and Logic.

Try using at least 64 samples buffer, I think 32 is a bit quick. What sound card you using? My Lynx system only goes down to 64.. I've had no issues at 64. But glad the plugin is working out.

I'd recommend ALWAYS using TRIGGER on a stereo track.. as noted leakage supression only works on stereo since the sidechain is always the left (or is it right?) side of the plugin, PLUS all the room mics and OHs for Deluxe are stereo samples.

I'm using a MOTU896HD

granted theres not a lot of difference between 32 and 64, I still NEVER have trouble at 32 with any other plugins. I'll give it a shot at 64, considering it would be completely worth it for this plugin alone. That said, if you and the team can find out whats causing it to fuck playback at 32, it would be nice to have solved in an update.

can't wait to make my own files to use in it, as well as using the full SSD library too. the demo is nice but a bit limiting.....making me want it even more! haha

get you.
just means its a bit of a faff(in P.T at least), as you have to create a new stereo track duplicate the snare track, and then copy the two down to make a stereo snare. Can it not work using a mono- stereo version?

I'm sure we can figure out how to make it play nice-nice at 32ms buffer. Whats your system Machinated? Is it a Xeon Intel Mac?

For PT I always put it on a stereo aux and send stuff to it. Quick, easy, ensures that the suppression works perfectly. I'll have to check more on the mono/stereo version to see if that will work with suppression.

We're getting some amazing feedback at other pro audo sites but I know that Steven really is looking forward to the Sneap forum guys to dig in.

Thanks for the insight about the phase vs sample thing, I am hopefully going to have a chance to really get in the trenches and put it through the paces this weekend... Don't get me wrong, I am really excited for this plugin and can't wait to have something to replace my current solution, but I definitely WILL be trying my best to "break" it ;) Hoping this plugin will show me who's boss. Cheers guys.

umm just use trigger as a mono>stereo insert.

You win Slate, spent my lunch break getting an ilok (of course they had to be sold out everywhere locally lol).

So when will we actually be able to buy this?

great to hear Ruckus.

The initial reviews at gearslutz are ecstatic.. hopefully more of you here are starting to check the demo and hearing how accurate TRIGGER is.. plus with the leakage suppression functionality, it makes it easy to never misstrigger.

Thanks for the patience guys!

WOW, this thing just replaced apTrigga and DrumTracker without even breaking a sweat. Perfectly triggered kick drums from the mic'ed kick track. Tons of double-bass and blasts, not a single mis-trigger yet, and not even using the suppression feature. I want to know when I can purchase this!

I can concur that this is pretty damn accurate. I just managed to retrigger my kick and snare in two minutes. Beats sitting there with Drumtrack for 30 minutes. Only thing is... no toms were included in the demo, so I'm not really able to check out my tom tracks like I wanted. I could do it with kicks I suppose, but no point in that at the moment.

Few things I'd like to see:

Physical manipulation of the envelopes.
Ability to adjust the high-cap of the dynamics and velocity. I don't always want the range to go all the way up to 127.

Hi Drew, you can manipulate the envelopes with the knobs.

You'll be able to save articulations of the dynamic and velocity settings and save them as articulations. Check out the video, in the stock Slate stuff it has different one click settings for stuff like that. I hope thats what you meant.

We're still working out the details on full version release.
