Update

It's very important for me to put myself into the specific mood that I feel that the different bands represent....to get into the right tonal atmosphere as the chord patterns are very different in the different bands. So, just writing a song and then see where it fits doesn't work for me. I need to go deeper into what I want to create or what takes control of my inspiration...sounds cheesy..but that's where it goes written in words:) mr V

That seem to be working out well, that's what is important. We all have our own creative process...some of us just haven't found it yet:Smug:

from babblermouth:

Norwegian metallers BORKNAGAR and IN VAIN have both had the release dates of their new albums — "Universal" and "Mantra", respectively — pushed back to 2010.

The two bands' record label, Indie Recordings, has issued the following statement regarding the delay:

"Since the start of Indie Recordings and Indie Distribution in 2005, a lot has happened. Indie Distribution has grown from being a small Norwegian underground distributor into being a significant player in the Norwegian music market . We are now handling labels such as Nuclear Blast, SPV/Steamhammer, Metal Blade, Rough Trade and tons of others, and we feel confident that Indie Distribution is the No. 1 hard rock/metal distributor in Norway today.

"Indie Recordings started off as a small side project to Indie Distribution, as we felt the urge to work closer with bands than what we could do as a distributor only. Indie Recordings has grown from releasing relatively unknown acts on a rarely basis, into releasing several albums per month with acts such as SATYRICON, ENLAVED, KEEP OF KALESSIN, AUDREY HORNE, BORKNAGAR, SHINING, GODSPEED, CARPATHIAN FOREST, etc.

"Having the opportunity to work with such fine musicians for the last years has been a great inspiration to us, and has motivated us to bring our business yet a step forward.

"So far, Indie Recordings has been distributed via a third party outside Norway, and Indie Distribution has been a business focusing only on Norway — we find that now is a good time to change this. We are launching Indie Distribution as our very own international distribution starting January 2010. Indie Distribution will naturally handle Indie Recordings, but we will also carry other respected Norwegian and foreign labels. More news on this will follow shortly.

"On the contrary of what a lot of people might think, feel and say — we are confident that the future of the music industry is bright, and we embrace this challenge with courage and great passion for our work!

"If you are a distributor that would be interested in cooperating with us — or a label looking for distribution — please get in touch with Erlend Gjerde via email; erlend@indiedist.no or phone; +47 23121780. We'll be at the Wacken festival July 30th – August 2nd and can meet face to face if you want to! Get in touch via email or cell + 47 45037053.

"Upcoming releases: Due to this change in our setup we have decided to postpone all releases previously scheduled for 2009 until 2010. This affects in particular BORKNAGAR and IN VAIN, but we are confident they will be better off benefiting from our new setup."

:cry::cry::cry:

Very depressing...I was so looking forward to that album. With all the albums confirmed to come out this year and all the possibilites such as Wintersun, I was really looking forward to a new Borknagar as well.

Hello to all good people. I am new here and sorry for my bad english! I wanted to say that i enjoy so much in Vintersorg's music, in all his projects. I find it fascinating , so i had to registrate and say it.

Right now, i enjoy in Waterclime and Cronian albums, i am a huge fan of prog rock and good music in general, and i think Mr V is one of most briliant composers of our time.
He also made best folk music with Otyg, too bad they split up. I still listen all their records everyday, they bring amazing mind projections of Scandinavian folklore, myths etc.

Only thing i wish, that is something like my personal wish  is to hear one day a true epic from this briliant mind, in a true spirit of progressive, experimental music. In Vintersorg or Waterclime, doesn't matter, a true epic symphony that conist in several parts. I know Mr V would do a great job, he have potential for something realy epic, conceptual masterwork i can smell that.

Best wishes to all, hope i posted in right topic!

Sound good. But make sure this review will be the most extensive you've ever written though! :p I want to know it all - from the setlist to the colour of Lars' socks! :p

Setlist:
(can't recall the name of the first one)
gods of my world
oceans rise
universal
inherit the earth
black token
future reminesence
ad noctum
colosus
genuine pulse
(last namemissed as well, from olden domain)

Didn't see his socks, sorry. But his boxers were a bright green, hope that is acceptable

review and stuff coming later, needless to say it was amazing! (oh, and sorry fo strange spelling mistakes and stuff, I'm a little drunk...)

I don't understand why people should gripe about the Borknagar delay on this forum when the Borknagar forum is right down the street. Mr V cannot control the release date, so please think about the future occupy for the time being.

I would like a review of Asgeir's boxers. Just...cause.

(Oh, who the hell we kidding - he's probably a briefs kind of guy.)

ANYWAYS...in non-Borknagar intimates news, I don't think it's unreasonable to post the news here; there's probably plenty of people out there (and here!) that are only interested in Borknagar because Vintersorg is involved, and may not want to venture into the Borky forums for the news. If it's not posted here, they'd have no idea there was a delay.

(Not to mention that the forum 'culture' may not jive with some people. I barely go there myself, the really REALLY hyper and SERIOUS ICS Vortex fanboys make it a not fun place for me. And I like ICS Vortex, so it's certainly no reflection on him!)

i sometimes check the other forum, but i'm mostly on this one...
in fact the news was taken from babblermouth.. someone could not check the borknagar forum so often so i decided to post it here :)
i mean this not only the forum of the band but also of the man....andreas himself sometimes speaks about his other projects.
