Well my state and city let the rest of the free world down. Im sorry, but its to be expected, thats why I will be leaving this hell hole in 8 months.
Unless the republicans fuck up the country so bad we have a major war and recession, the republicans have created a kind of Fascist state in this country. Almost the entire south, Midwest, and plain states, voted in huge margins for W and the republicans. Lets face it, no democrat will win those states 4 years from now. I tell you those republicans have read their history. W reminds me of Augustus, who cemented his power on a tenous title of emperor, with a morality campaign, and small easy to win wars in Romania etc, and hell he got bogged down in Parthia- which Iraq has some territory in now too.
Lets face it, most americans from the south, and midwest etc, are not very smart, the media is not helping, and the rise of religion as a political force, has put the icing on the cake.

they are reporting that most people that voted for Bush voted on "MORAL ISSUES" ... fuck ... for abortion, religion, etc ...

The other huge problem is, those that are voting. The polls all show that the 50- 60-80 year olds are the biggest voters. The 18-35 year olds barely voted, like 20%, wheras the 50-80 year olds had like a 80% turnout.
The 50 and 60 year olds grew up around the very conservative white bread 50's and early 60's. the 70 year olds missed WWII, but also experienced the fun conservativsim of the cold war, and the 50's. These people are extremely conservative. My parents are both 60, although they voted for Kerry, they and those they know of this age bracket, are the sort of the people that do nothing exciting, they missed the late 60's, they were too conservative and in their late 20's, so they didnt care. Im telling you, until the 20-40 year old generation goes out to vote, we are all screwed here for at least 10 years.
Well I am looking forward to leaving this country more and more. 8 months, is all i got.

Yeah I was focusing on the late 50's early 60's type people, but especially the 60 and overs. My dads a Vietnam vet, but he was out by 66, and to old and fed up to take part of any drug induced hippiness.
