If with the next album, they included an EP of maybe four songs that the band felt should have been rerecorded with maybe a cover or two...I would be down, but I don't think they should actually redo entire albums.

What's wrong with Dimmu Borgir? They're a pretty damn good band in my opinion. Plus it's like orchestry but with metal.
