I'm just naming them exactly the same way... as I have all my mp3's in ONE playlist it's sometimes difficult to find out to which album they belong when there are many version of the song - and I'm not too much familiar with Winamp extra options

hehe i cannot stand them named any other way, but i also rip my own CDs into mp3's to listen to in the house and then listen to the actual CDs in my car so by me ripping my own mp3's i also have them named the way i like right away and don't have to mess around with all that later

If i put all of my CDs on my comp and loaded them into one playlist i think my computer or winamp would shit on me and die

I don't like id3 tag really..

But I don't use playlists.
And I can't put all my CDs on a playlist even if I wanted to because I don't have 35G free on my hard drive.

ACK! i couldn't name them like that, would drive me nuts... also i don't use playlists either, just throw random stuff in there and listen til i'm tired of it, then delete and add more

Well, with over 20G of MP3s (mostly from my CDs), I need some way to separat them, otherwise I'd have 1000-2000 files in a directory. Besides, I'm not a big fan of the shuffle. I like listening to CDs from start to finish, and this works out better since I usually know which disc I want to listen to.

And I need to at least have them separated by artist so I can burn them on to 50 (or 60) CDRs when I get around to it...

I still prefer the normal audio files for the stereo, I only use mp3's if I don't have it on an album... I need my space for other stuff.

im in the same situation as Morgana, i only have mp3s of albums I dont have, whether they are yet to be released, or if its from a band I like to check out. Mp3s are handy when im on the comp surfing but nothing beats the music being pumped out the stereo speakers!

If I had a stereo, I might do that... but my computer's all I got. And the speakers on that thing are better than the one I had on stereo. And since I ripped my own MP3s, I can control the quality.

same here....
I buy a cd and the first thing I do is ripping it into mp3 in my PC....
then burn it into a cdr....so I don't make the original cd suffer that much....I leave them for the discman or the car...
long live mp3....
I don't have stereo neither, don't need it
