hi,
i usually just read (actually skim through) the posts on the Anathema boards, but i'd like to take the chance to tell how disappointing it is to read tons of posts filled with vulgarism and offtopic themes. i'm not a native English speaker and not a linguistic professor but somehow it seems to me that most of you try to conceal your lack of English knowledge with words like shit, fuckin', etc.
I'd rather suggest you to decrease the presence of these expressions
, it's no way similar to the world what the Anathema lyrics built up.
And I agree with the opinion that you shouldn't live your life here; post only if you have something to say and not for only the sake of fun. However if it's a life or death question for you to be part of a virtual community i guess you should look for a chat/irc site or whatever.
If I were Anathema, my intentions would be a nice, clean forum that give information to the newcomers (as it is clear that the somewhat lighter sound is partly because of an opening towards a wider spectrum of people), explain things/interviews that the press bended etc.
Don't misunderstand me, i'm not a saint, but i usually visit dozens of forums (and i have at least 2 or 3 nicks, what a shame..), and post the relevant themes to where they belong. (And I can live without using "fuck" everywhere. OK, that's because you can annihillate your opponent in a more clever yet much more harmful ways in our nice language. All right, this stands for any other language.
)
ie. Mulholland Drive is one of my favourite movies, but I discussed about Lynch in the proper places. (Though if you really need this type of offtopic themes, I suggest Danny (or whoever the overlord/beastmaster/moderator_of_moderators/etc.) to create a single sub-forum called "chat","free zone" or whatever.)
