Recently I heard a few people say they didn't like it when the Martin's came on. I don't know why, I think they're both excellent musicians, and Lopez is one bad-ass drummer.

Although I do really like the bass on Orchid and Morningrise, Martin Mendez' way of playing better suits the songs. So I say the current line-up.
One of the main reasons I love the current line-up is Martin Lopez. His drumming is absolutely excellent. He reminds me of a heavy metal Carl Palmer (and if anyone bashes ELP in my presence I'll torch your house)

Yeah but Asia just... sucks. Too pop. ELP was an amazing band, I don't care what anyone says.
The only previous member which I miss is Johan DeFarfalla. He was pretty damn good.

The current line-up is good, except for Mendez. He's just nothing special and frankly he bores me. All he does is play along with the guitar 99% of the time.
DeFarfalla, on the other hand, rocked. He had more of a distinct sound and way of playing.

Yeah, current. Bass on Morningrise is unreal, but that had nothing to do with the lineup. That's just how Mikael wrote it.

But I still miss DeFarfalla.
What they've lost in previous members had been gained in the the Martins... though in different areas repectively. So I don't particularily favour any of the previous line-ups (though perhaps it would be more precise to say 'either' line up I guess)
I do have to admit though, Lopez has been given more to work with in the more recent albums and has finally been given a chance to show his abundance of talent, for which I am very grateful!

I guess I'll have to go with the lineup of Orchid/Morningrise, because of their towering superiority to the subsequent albums, but as previously mentioned, the lineup didn't really have anything to do with how good the music was, so it really isn't an answerable question.
