guys, i was thinking of a show where i'll get all of my favourite bands. i dont know wheather its possible or not but i like to dream about that show.what about yours?

Symphony X
Opeth
Dragonforce
Angra
Nightwish
Wintersun
Pink Floyd
Megadeth with Friedman
Dream theater
Rising force

King Diamond playing House of God and Puppet Master in their entirety, and then selections from the rest of his catalogue
Mercyful Fate playing the vast majority of every album, but as long as he played the song "Dead Again as well as the entire nuns have no fun EP and Melissa and Don't Break the Oath, i'd be happy as fuck. Oh, and the first half of Time.

Well it sure as hell wouldn't include Nightwish, Dragonforce or fucking Rising Force.

It'd probably be Symphony X playing V - The New Mythology Suite. And maybe The Odyssey as an encore. With an orchestra.

Symphony X with an orchestra, playing three nights in a row, and with all of their albums in their entirety.

I'd also like to see Opeth with an orchestra, just because it would be funny.

I assume that you only want bands that still exist, so...

Symphony X
Buckethead
Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush
Primus
Jonas Hellborg
Besh O Drom
Animus
Raquy and the Cavemen
Aquarium Rescue Unit
Freak Zoid
Behold... The Arctopus
Dysrhythmia

Went to one it was called Operation Mindcrime, I could nit pick but we have others that are professional at that. Ill always regret not seeing them in the early nineties and I had the chance.

Went to another it was Symphony X and that one deserved nit picking

Went to another it was Kamelot and I didnt know what to expect but they got the job done

I saw Stevie Ray Vaughan in 87 or 88 and it was THE BEST live music I have ever witnessed

Others I have missed so tis too late

I wish I went to the first Gigantour
Fates Warning in '97
Savatage when Criss Oliva was alive, as well as later...say Wake of Magellan period
G3 with Satch, Vai & Petrucci when Steve Morse made a guest appearence, somewhere in Texas I believe it was.

newer or current bands I havent seen ? well so far only
Threshold
Opeth
Circus Maximus
Adagio
are the only that hold interest

All at once ? Too long of a concert can be exhausting

Blind Guardian
Iron Maiden
Symphony X
Beyond Twilight
Megadeth
Wuthering Heights
Angra
Pain of Salvation
Gammaray
Savatage
Rage

that's all for now...but seriously that a cream dream for me.

...in no praticular order:

Symphony X
Amon Amarth
Soilwork
Magnitude Nine
Evergrey
Hypocrisy
Dungeon (with Stu Marshall)
Opeth
Dark Tranquillity

Ok, I'll stop. :p

EDIT:

Actually, I'd have a series of Festivals over a number of days. Each dedicated to a particular genre. Like...

Day 1 - Black Metal Fest.
Belphegor
Marduk
Dark Funeral
...And Oceans
Behemoth
Immortal
Bloodthorn
Dimmu Borgir
Akercocke
Emperor

Day 2: Prog/Power Fest.
Symphony X
Dream Theater
Evergrey
Dungeon (with Stu Marshall)
Nightwish
Pagan's Mind
Outworld
Magnitude Nine
Rage
Iced Earth
Sonata Arctica
Kamelot

Day 3 - Melo-Death Fest
Dark Tranquillity
Soilwork
In Flames
Be'lakor
Hypocrisy
Children Of Bodom
Amon Amarth
Arch Enemy
Kalmah
Wintersun

Like it'll happen... : /

^with any luck, next year will result in the greg howe/planet x thing being quite feasible

nah, not gonna happen unfortunately... :erk:

I've been keeping pretty close to Planet X news (via Planet X, Virgil Donati, Tony MacAlpine forums) and it's actually more likely that Planet X will end... If they do tour again, it'll most likely be with Brett Garsed on guitars, which would be fine by me, but Virgil has started up a new power trio with Tony and Billy Sheehan, and in a interview with Derek not long ago, he sounded pretty down about the whole Planet X thing... shame...

Dream Setlist...man that's hard. Some of these bands only if their deceased members came back to life for this one show.

A Festival Type venue..like mawdyson's.
