That's awesome. I saw them in Helsinki; they were epic as hell. Definitely a great show.

But it's not viking metal. It's power metal.
Just like Amon Amarth is not viking metal, but melodic death metal.

I suppose I can agree that their genre is melodic death metal - but their lyrics are always Heathen, and I'm one of the few metalheads that appreciates awesome lyrics.. so they're melodic viking death metal to me.

SAMPO:
"Working title for this song was 'Eepos' [ed - meaning Epic Poetry - we presume], which tells quite a lot. Turned out great and is the most epical track on 'Skyforger'. A great opener which shows immediately how much work we have done for this album. It interests already a lot of people; What is Sampo?"
SILVER BRIDE:
"Blacksmith Ilmarinen is forging himself a bride. This is the first single track from 'Skyforger'. Very catchy, straigh- forward Amorphis-song. The video for this track turned out great!"
FROM THE HEAVEN OF MY HEART:
"Another strong, catchy track that we were thinking of releasing as a
single. Again this song includes beautiful vocal harmonies."
SKY IS MINE:
"Great up-tempo song with delay-added guitar line which is going through almost the whole song. Great flowing mood. One of my personal favourites on 'Skyforger'."
MAJESTIC BEAST:
"This is one of the heaviest and strongest tracks on the album. It was
pretty natural that this song needed more agressive vocals. We always
have some 'kebab' influenced parts on our albums and the working title
'Iskender Kebab' tells it all."
MY SUN:
"This is where the album calms down. Great atmosphere through out whole
song. This is total ear-candy!"
HIGHEST STAR:
"Another more moodier song with great fragile vocal lines. Turns more
heavier till the end."
SKYFORGER:
"Title track and another epic song. I really like the break. It gives
great atmosphere when saxophone hits in."
COURSE OF FAITH:
"Mid tempo, catchy song with familiar Amorphis elements."
FROM EARTH I ROSE:
"Final track which reminds me of early Amorphis works. Great way to end

I haven't heard that they're working on something new, but now I'm psyched. Metal-Archives has nothing on it, so it must not have an official release date yet. Their website only says 2009.
