What are Stargazer like?

Ummmm... not sure how I'd describe them, actually! I suppose death metal, but not the non-stop blasting type. Very creative, and their bass player is incredible. Usually I don't go for bands that would be described as "technical metal", but this is a little different somehow. Someone described the music as Cynic having bad nightmares, heh. They use a lot of obscure Central Asian mythology and imagery. The samples at their MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/theserpentinquisitor) aren't too long, unfortunately. They also have a website at http://www.stargazer.hm.

I think two of the guys from Stargazer now play in Portal (http://www.myspace.com/portalxiii)... now there's a fucking bizarre band. I'd love to see them live.

Sounds interesting! I'll have a listen. I had a listen to Portal a few days ago, didn't blow me away though.
