My 8040's arrived a couple of days ago (!!!) so I decided to celebrate today by getting an extra 22" widescreen monitor to run a dual setup. The monitor surface is so huge now it's almost ridiculous, hehe. But I hope I get used to it fast.

how to mic cab ¯\(°_o)/¯

i made the photo before i did the actual mic setup... and i put it in front of the cab to achieve a nice black textured background, instead of some white wall texture. to show just the xlr connecter also wont be that intersting at all.. but at the end, i´m sure most of you guys would still have recogniced the sm57.

What's wrong with that mic pos'n? That's just off-axis isn't it?
Does the Road King "do" the standard dual-rec sound? That thing looks awesome.

well, i dont have a direct comparision to the standard dual-rec, but from what i remember, yes you get that sound.

BUT, with all this options and tweaking you can achieve many different colors..
mostly, i tend to play the last weeks in channel 3 / vintage mode with 2xEL34+2x6L6
and channel 4 in modern mode with 4x6L6
