    current best selling progressive bands

I love Muse and I would definitely lump them into the progressive rock category. But back to the purpose of this discussion... does anyone know where we could find sales numbers? I'm genuinely curious. It'd also be great to compare to power metal numbers in light of the recent shift of...

Pain of Salvation New Album (TBA)

Oh, how tantalizing that they describe it as similar to Remedy Lane - my favorite! I'll have to keep an eye out for this.

    D.S.O! WOW!!!

Thank you so much for sponsoring them! This was the band I was most excited to see by far. I pouted at my friends until they let me up on the barrier for the show, and I had such a blast jumping up and down and "dancing." I so wish that I could have been up front swing dancing too ;)

    Cheers and Jeers!

Hi all, I always want to say too much but I'll keep it short and sweet this year: Cheers to everyone to who makes this a family and helped me incorporate my progpower newbie Charlsie into the family this year. She had an absolute blast and is already talking about next year. It means so much...

    Chance of rain in Atlanta

I wish I could say things were crazy here at GT, but life is normal since we live in a bubble. They haven't cancelled school at Tech since 9/11 (or so I've heard). We did get to see some sunshine today though! Hopefully Atlanta has seen the worst of it.

    Did anyone else get sick?

It hit me like a brick! 5pm Monday night I sneezed. By 9pm at the end of my dinner with a major company I want to work for, my nose was a faucet. So embarrassing! Then I had career fair all day Tuesday and my own organized career fair on Wednesday with the ProgPower plague. Three interviews...

Anyone going to the Wed. Night show with CIRCUS MAXIMUS?

I'll be there for sure! I can't wait to see everyone again. Plus I'll finally be 21 at Progpower... but that doesn't mean I'm singing Karaoke.

TIME EDIT: Corset night tradition - 6:40pm Friday night!

Well D:S:O is one of my favorites but since this might be my last ProgPower (I'm graduating GT this spring!) I need to make this photo! I love this tradition and I can't wait to see the girls again.

    PROGRESSIVE NATION 09

I had given up on ever seeing PoS live, so this is fantastic news. Regardless of your opinion of the band, I think coming back on this tour was a very smart choice.

Head-bangers, beware of injury, rocker scientists warn

http://www.sciam.com/blog/60-second-science/post.cfm?id=head-bangers-beware-of-injury-rocke-2008-12-17 Anybody ever been in pain after a particular good concert? Gojira both times in Atlanta have left me smarting. There was also a time when a crowd surfer in a tiny crowd at the...

    VAN CANTO rocks!

Oh haha I believe that was the group "Infinite Harmony" playing on the Live@WREK show. Thanks for listening! We have three a Capella groups on campus. Freshman year I attended one of the a Capella shows because my friend was a vocalist, and I was blown away by how much fun it was. They were...

    Nightwish/Volbeat tour in Spring '09

Ugh... This will depend on my start dates for my internship this summer. A Thursday night show when it takes five hours to drive from Mobile to Atlanta does not sound good. *crosses fingers*

    Metal ringtones

I have the synth intro to Nightwish's "She is my Sin" as my alarm, and I think it ruined the song for me! Haha. I also have the synth part of Therion's "Three Ships of Berik" as my ringtone currently. I try to avoid vocal parts and just use cool riffs. However, I was greatly amused every time...

Oh Nathan, I can't believe I missed this! I had no idea that you had to deal with all of this. I'm really, really sorry to hear it and I hope you know that my thoughts are now with you as you wrap everything up. I wish we could have had more time together this ProgPower - next year, my...
