3 Recto tones, please pick your favorite! (AND: LPF = JESUS)

Thanks dude! And now for the results...

A = EMG 81, 18v
B = EMG 81, 9v
C = EMG 85, 9v

I'm fully convinced that A is my favorite, to me it's a balance between the sterility of B and the muddiness of C, so if anyone wants to trade an 81 for my 85, I'll have pics up soon! :D

Well, that saves me doing the 18V mod. Put those in a mix that isn't a wall of middy loud guitars and the difference will be bugger all.

Sorry dude, but I think this must confirm my love for the JSX, as I'm not a fan of the tones you're going for :p The mic position is much better than previous clips you've posted though.

I like 'A' the best, but I think that's because you seem to have played the left channel part slightly different than the other two. That, or the pickup difference makes the little things you're doing stand out more.

Sure Dan, whatever you say

Pete, no rush, but thanks for the advance praise :D

And iekobrid, I definitely played them the same each time, so who knows!

For the sake of discussion, let's say the left channel of each mp3 sample contains one main rhythm pattern played four times, first with ending A, then with ending B (the pinched harmonic), then A again, then B again. At risk of confusion with the english lessons above, there's an (over?)tone in the last few notes of the A part, almost an open string ring, that the first mp3's guitar tone makes stand out a lot more, at least through the cheapo speakers on this computer. It totally makes the riff for me. :)
