all new "NP" thread -

I actually love After, it got me into Ihsahn really. I've been listening to The Adversary and angL lately as well, and they both kick ass. DT's lyrics are brilliant, yes, but are they the best I have ever heard? I don't know, I think I'll go for a joint first spot, together with Opeth and Ihsahn. The lyrics of Monolith are amazing!

NP: Ihsahn - A Grave Inversed

I actually have two NP's at the moment thanks to my black metal obsession today.
1) DoomThrone - Skeleton veiled in flesh (NOTE: Listen to this at your own risk, in exploring all the sides of music I have come across this band and can't help but laugh, but if you are not so,eone who has a high pain tolerance in the ears, than DO NOT listen to this.

2) Immortal - Call of the Wintermoon [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VBdAY8eA9w"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VBdAY8eA9w[/ame]
I Cant help but just enjoy Immortals videos, especially the wizard hat, but the music also is actually quite good

Nah, DT's are the best lyrics, period.

Someone finally put this song on Youtube.

The Black League - Night on Earth

Most of the more recent TBL material is Southern Rock inspired. I'm not sure what the genre is called internationally, but it's sort of a heavy metal / country fusion (which is why it's strange that it exists internationally. The first album, however, had songs written over a period of several years from many different genres. During the months that I was listening to this album, this song perfectly caught the mood of winter descending on my home town just as was dealing with a load of school, work, and other distractions.

"It's been a long day. So bloody cold.
Here in the White Town of the North
Walking... Past the gravestones, across the frozen fields
Through the hordes and congregations - Right against the stream!

Thy Kingdom Come - Thy Kingdom Gone
In the White Town of the North
Thy Kingdom Come and another good man gone
And when it's night it is night upon this earth"

It's the way the whole composition punches out the words "White Town of the North". Hit's me where I live, physically and spiritually.

Other good one from this album, very melodic: Winter Winds Sing

Yea i have a little bit of an unhealthy obsession with Laura atm, she is freaking adorable, voice of an angel, she writes amazing lyrics, and the band isnt too bad either. I am an ultimate fanboy at the moment lol.
