They're coming back soon enough. I've never seen them live either, and I still wouldn't buy a live album.

A high quality live DVD, on the other hand, I would pick up. And I'll prolly get one soon cause they have one in the works.

Yuk. Live albums generally suck. The only ones worth mentioning is Live After Death, Unleashed In The East, Made In Japan, Alive and No Sleep Til Hammersmith.

A DVD would be okay, but a live album would suck. Big time. Every band releases live albums today, and they are just boring.

I'm just under the impression that a live album is something that a lot of bands do when they've run out of ideas or just want to fill up a record contract. Like Jim I agree that they're basically bloody pointless if they're playing a bunch of songs that have been released before, and playing them note-for-note.

I've only got two live albums - SYL's No Sleep Till Bedtime, and Dead Can Dance's toward the within. The latter one in particular is fantastic, the majority of the tracks hadn't been heard before.

On that note, does anyone know what the live Iron Monkey CD is like?

It should have lengthy proggie and non-metal parts, and brutally heavy elements. Lots of growling, lots of singing. Lots of everything, damnit!

As for changing songs when playing live, the bridge between Credence and Bleak was sweeeeet (at least in Toronto..)
