The use of children and other disturbing imagery is because that's the kind
of atmosphere we want to build with our music. We want to inspire certain
feelings in people - some people experience uneasiness, some people disgust
and some people "appreciate" it. We aren't making any personal statements
with our imagery - just a way of contributing to the general feeling of
madness/malice that surrounds our lyrical content and music. First and
foremost it's an aesthetical choice. If we dumb it down, are horror film
producers more likely to commit acts of violence/murder? But sure, there is
a shade of perversion in us.
