I guess I took the question to be about what releases you used to love but now hate. In other words to see how you have changed, not how a given band has changed.

I hate bands that gratuitously use pronouns in their lyrics (I, he, she, etc.); it takes away from the timeless feel of the song. I'm not a big fan of "personal narrative" lyrics.

SOAD are not really nu-metal, and I think they are a pretty original and good band.

Agreed. I think their first 3 albums are great, and there's nothing nu-metal about them. I can understand the hate for them though, heaps of my friends can't stand them because of the quirkiness aspect.

The only one I can think of is Nirvana. I was an early 90s kid and grew up with this and loved it, but now can't really listen to it. Aside from that, there's few bands I've ever stopped listening to.

How are they NOT nu-metal? I agree they're not too bad as far as nu-metal goes, and didn't play on the whole teen angst thing, but I'm sorry but musically they sound like archetypal nu-metal to me. BTW 'spiders' is a killer song, I'm going to listen to it now.
