I agree with that. They just talk about a lot of Viking themes in their songs.

themes such as Battles? .... :Smug: personally I think so called "Battle" metal is a stupid name for a genre... and all these subgenre's coming out are stupid... I prefer Metal and Extreme Metal with perhaps Death and Black metal.. that is about it... and thrash as well... :Smokin:

I hate when people refer to Amon Amarth as viking metal. They are a melodeath band, and a far above average one at that. To me, viking metal is that folkish black metal with occasional clean vocals (Riger, Die Saat, Bergthron, Nachtfalke, etc.).

I know that no one actually thinks of battle metal as a true genre, though plenty of people do for viking metal.

Yea I wonder how anyone would call a viking themed metal band viking metal thats so weird/gay

All the ones on Nuclear Blast should be easy to track down, the older ones turn up occassionally (I remember landing a really cheap used copy of Starfire Burning upon the Ice-Veiled Throne of Ultima Thule, that was a find) although I'm having trouble finding the first one.

Amazon.com as everything. 99% of my cds come from amazon and it is generally the cheapest place and has the biggest selection of cds, around here anyway.
