As much as I cannot deny Joeys vocal range, no it is not the 80's but try to tell these bands to "update."

Judas Priest
AC/DC
Rolling Stones
Slayer ("they have not changed their clothes in 20 years!") nor their sound/attitude (well sans whaling).

Even if it is just one album, or even one song, I would love to hear how Joey and Dan would be today. I bet alot of us would be surprised. POT didnt have a whole lot (bare minimum) of screaming or whaling on it, perhaps new shit wont either.

Point! But Anthrax had! moved on, and become a new band, but the same band. A new band for new times! It seems a bit like going back in time just for nostalgors (sp) sake.

Totally agreed on the groove metal part. I think they shouldn't make a complete retro record though. They still have it to sound classic yet timeless. I do hope they will start laying down more thrashier material then they did with Bush though. I cannot say WCFYA sucked, it just wasn't an ANTHRAX album, or at least it sucked IMO when I thought of it as an ANTHRAX album.

Ahem, not an ANTHRAX album? Mh, I think a band has to enhance their sound with every cd. Do you really prefer 1 step forward, 100 steps back? I mean do you really want them to record a SOE or ATL part 2? It wouldn't work! That would sound cheesy.
If you want to know what happens if a band tries to do an album that sounds more thrash & rough, listen to St. Anger. :puke:Man, THAT sucked!

For me WCFYA was one of the best Anthrax albums. Sorry.:worship:

We haven't made any decision on who is singing yet. We can't just decide to move forward we have to know that we can musically. That's why the music we make will have to decide what happens.
