Best way to wake the fuck ul

i actually find once i've got up and showered/eaten/whatever then i'm functional for a few hours regardless of how much sleep i've had. the problem is when it catches up with me later.

Cocaine won't last all day haha. Generally, coffee, tea, or caffeinated soda works for me, but you said not to suggest it. I usually drink a Mountain Dew in the morning. It wakes me up, but it hurts on an empty stomach.

Take a cold shower or something. That will wake you up. Also, get really pissed at something.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I may try Yerba mate (never heard of it, but I will attempt to procure it) and see how it goes, as well as the freezing cold water thing.

Coffee, energy drinks, or tea have never really helped me any more than a little bit. I was just wondering if there was some sort of magic cure that would remove my fatigue in the mornings.

I've found that since I started having to work mornings that it's best to just get the fuck out of bed as soon as you wake up. Laying around tends to make me more tired.

That and a couple glasses of tea helps.
I actually get up the second my alarm goes off the first time (20 minutes before I actually have to be there), throw my work shirt on, deodorant on, and walk to work.

Yerba helps, but makes my stomach queasy so no go there. Caffeine is always a plus, best used for keeping motivated for work less so for a wake up jolt. The BEST option is a cold as fuck shower, if you have the balls for it on any given day.

Feeling good in the morning isn't complicated. Most people need 7-8 hours of sleep on a regular schedule. Of course that's not always an option with *ahem* "flexible" work schedules.

I function on 4-6 nightly. I'd like more sleep but as it is, I may end up working 12 hrs, 6 days a week fairly regularly. If I work 12 hrs and sleep 8, factor in my hour combined travel time and I'm conscious and not at work 3 hours a day, a half hour of that trying to drag my dead ass out of bed. That's no way to live.

If I sleep any longer than 6 hours I feel like death the rest of the day, have to be up crisply. Hour before work so I can have something small for breakfast (banana, handful of peanuts or something and a bottle of water) and then take a walk on a bush trail, then it's off to work which is a 20 minute commute. I start work at 7 so I'm up at 6.

I do not miss ridiculously early starts. Actually my ideal job would be night owl stuff.

At this point in life I have already convinced myself that some people are "morning" people and some people arent. Unless you are dragging ass all day (which sounds like a health issue), then I would suggest just dealing with it. Maybe make it a point to get more sleep. Exercising regularly will give you more energy and alertness during the day, so maybe do a daily 20 minute cardio workout before or after work (since mornings suck for you, I guess id say after).

Personally I need about an hour of wake up time before im functional. I find that my day goes more smoothly when I give myself even 20 minutes of 'space' in the mornings to wake up and gather my thoughts. Otherwise, just going through the morning ritual as a zombie until im awake is the normal routine for me.

This for me

Wake up at 6
Shower
Drink coffee/eat while watching the news
Leave for work at 7

Yeah, I need my space time in the morning. Sex is fine, but if anyone tries to hold a full blown conversation theyre met with silence until ive gotten that in.

I'm never truly awake until like 1030. I think that stems from staying up late consistently in college and having late classes. I would go to sleep at maybe 4 am and wake ~10. Nowadays it's bed ~10 and wake at 5:00. I'm wide awake while driving but the moment I get to work I'm sleepy again. That's when coffee comes into play ...

I'd like to eat breakfast but most days I'm queasy. Dad and bro have same issue though so probably some genetic stomach acid or anxiety issue. Can breakfast fine on weekend mornings.

Yes I need some space before launching into dealing with the world. I never just "roll out of the bed and go to work". I've had dudes ask me to take their shifts at work in the middle of the day even, but only when it was just enough notice for me to throw work clothes on and walk out the door. Too late bo. I don't roll like that.

I like to be out of bed by 6:20 on weekdays; my alarm goes off at 6:10.

Then two cups of coffee, the second with breakfast (either yogurt with fruit and nuts, or avocado-toast with an egg on top).

Then I walk as part of my commute. By the time I get to work, I'm well awake.
