No they fucking AREN'T. They fit most comfortably in the Finnish breed of melodeath (Kalmah, Norther, Sentenced, etc.). They have power metal influences, but to say their music is similar to bands like Helloween or Blind Guardian is wrong.

Norway may not be at the forefront of the scene right now, but overall, a large majority of the genre's classics are by Norwegian bands. Sure, Bathory may have invented it (nobody speak a word about Venom), but bands like Emperor, Darkthrone, and Burzum perfected it.
