i went to se COB on sat 14th feb at the glasgow ABC.
i stood for over n hour after wards to meet the band and after a long wait they came out and alexi said gimme 5 mins guys and we will come out and sign ur stuff.
they got onto he tour bus and then drove off leavin many disgruntled fans!
me and my mates bein one ov those.
from a fans point of veiw i was really peeved and annoyed as most bands forget these days its the fans that put them where they are.
does anyone else feel that a lot of bands these days just dont have time 4 the fans anymore?
COB u really disapointed me and a really dont know if i will continue to support you anymore

There's always the possibility the guys had the intention of exiting the bus and signing your stuff like they said they would and usually do, but the driver insisted that they move to the next location asap, locked the doors, and drove off without letting them meet 'n 'greet.

I wouldn't automatically assume 'OMGALEXIURAFUCKINGASSHOLEUHATEURFANSFUCKYOU'. Who knows what the hell happened.

Actually the driver was outside/ just sitting having coffee/tea for quite a long time, the guys had PLENTY of time, it wasn't as if there was loooads of people that would really make them late, only a handfull.

I talked to some band about this kind of thing before, think it was mendeed and they said that when your on tour some nights you just want your personal space and the last thing you can face into is a group of fans getting you to sign stuff and take pictures,
I do hate when bands won't come out to see their fans but theirs always a reason

The reason why most people were pissed off is because they said they would and didn't even say sorry they weren't quite up to it, but no we were stood waiting for even longer just to be ignored.
Would be fair enough if we'd have gotten some explanation, even if they'd just asked the driver to tell us.

He simply didn't care, I wouldn't either, look at it from his point of view, if you were him why would you care? "Oh because he should be thankful for his fans they owe us so much" yeah, but still, I wouldn't care, if I had a band that started to get famous and people wanted me to sign things I'd do it gladly for about two or three years, after that it would start to be so annoying and I would do what he did and just tell them I would be back so they would let me get in the bus, they have been doing it for like 10 years, I bet he's sick of that.

Thats a bullshit attitude.

Agreed.

No matter how much the guys don't wanna meet their fans, the fact still remains that without fans, they'd be back in Finland stuck doing something they didn't want to do, and so them not sparing a few minutes is a really cuntish thing to do, people had got the guys small presents for vday and that was money wasted on their part and they didn't even pass on a message to let people know that we were wasting our time.

But they aren't. And leaving a few fans waiting while he's exhausted inside the bus won't change anything. Sure, it can be irrespectful, but 10 minutes later he won't even remember.

30-45 minutes later people were still shouting for them and asking the driver if they were actually comming out and at one point the driver did go in and go to where the guys were and so presumably asked them, but no word when he came back out.

Well you can keep complaining of how bad he treats the fans but I'm sure that when they release another album you'll buy it and when they go back there you will attend the show, so just forget about it and have a happy life :)

Musicians do not owe their fans anything. It is their job to make music, not be your friend and spend time with you.

If you don't like their music, then listen to someone else. If you suddenly don't like them as people (even though you don't really know them) then that still has not changed their music. Besides, something like that is nothing personal, because it's not like they know you either.

I hate when fans feel like they have some sense of entitlement to the band and their time. You buy and listen to their music because you like it, and it was your choice.

Of course situation like that feels very cruel from a fan's point of view but you can't judge artists behavior if you don't know all that happened back then. You only know what you saw. If they have for example signed 500 autographs and they have just played a gig and they're very very tired, and there are 500 more fans outside their bus waiting for their stuff for to be signed, I kind of understand them. But we can't really know what really happened.

I don't blame him, have you seen some of the fans... the OMGALEXI crowd, the people who want to learn Finnish, move to Finland and get married to Alexi on the shores of Lake Bodom aren't really the type you wanna see after a long day, especially when there's 20 of them lined up. Still kinda sucks though

Exactly, especially on Valentine's Day.

Probably thought he was going to get raped or something.

And I want to say that I wouldn't blame any musician for avoiding the kind of fans who would chase after a bus, and then proceed to whine, complain, and get all judgmental (on your band's own message board) when they didn't get to see you.
