Comics Thread #2

if they'd planned on Peter leaving his body to be temporary and marketed it as a heavily-advertized "mini-series" type thing, then i'd be totally on-board with it

you know, where "the villian" entering Spiderman's body is "part 1 of 8"
and then in "Part 8" Peter gets his body back and then has to deal with the repercussions of said villian acting out of character while in Peter's body
you know, this^^^ would have been the most awesome thing EVER
Justice League will bomb. They've already retconned the Nolan Batman movies for it so it's gonna confuse the shit out of most people.

"Wait!? I thought Batman died!?"

yeah, Justice League will bomb no matter when it's released, but releasing it the same fucking year as Avengers 2 is really gonna make it bomb so much worse

also
i loved the 2 Micheal Keaton Batman movies directed by Tim Burton
then the next 2 Batman movies came out and they were both crap
when Batman Begins came out, i saw it the opening weekened, just to see if it would be better than the horrible-ness of the previous 2 movies
Batman Begins was so awsome i went out and got a Bat-Symbol tattooed on my upper left arm
sadly
Batman Begins ended up being Definately the best of the Nolan Trilogy
it just looks like Nolan's ability as a movie director gets worse and worse with each successive movie
TDKR sucked so bad, i spent the whole movie Screeming at the Screen
Michelle Pheiffer as Catwoman = Sexiest Female to ever be in a superhero movie
Anne Hathaway as Catwoman = Distractingly Un-Sexy

Anne Hathaway was amazing as Catwoman.

i can kinda see it
like maybe if you already thought anne hathaway was sexy before she was casted as catwoman

but
the writing/character development/costume/who the fuck was the chick hanging out with catwoman in the bar scene??

i still gotta say
michelle pfiffer's catwoman >>> anne hathaway's catwoman

I did think Anne Hathaway was sexy before I saw the movie, but that makes no difference. I thought she was great because she acted just like Catwoman does in the comics and even Akrham City. The girl that was with her was one of her prostitiute friends. She was there when Bruce went to see her when he told her he was broke.

i'm gonna have to watch it on DVD
but i was pretty sure that "catwoman's friend" was a female character from the batman comic, but i just couldn't tell which one it was,
did they mention her name??

Just pre-ordered Jupiter's Legacy, due in April. I don't know much about it, but it's by Frank Quietly (from the awesome We3), so I reckon it'll be good.

i absolutely loved Watchmen and Welcome to Tranquility so i think some more stuff in that vein could look awesome

It's not even close to the same thing. Do you even read? The New 52 is a reboot. Marvel NOW! is just a shuffling of creative teams onto different books. Sure they renumbered (most) everything, but it's not at all similar to The New 52.

i get your point that it's not really the same thing, but i'm still irked by how clearly the whole Marvel NOW! thing is really obviously being done in response to The New 52

Eeehh.... I see your point as well. I wonder if Marvel would've done such a thing if DC hadn't have (half-heartedly) "rebooted" everything....

Fraction, Brubaker and Hickman were just about done with their runs anyway, so some sort of change would've had to have been necessary I think.

Guess we'll never know.

I read Saga #10 a few days ago and was freaking out for like a half hour. If this series keeps up at it's current level, it may just end up being the best thing ever. First issue is free on Comixology.com!
