Death Metal

Waking the Cadaver are more slam death than deathcore nowadays but I agree, they're probably the worst band I've ever heard.

Yeah they are much slammier than they were before but they are still bleh.

I think I'm alone in thinking this, but all (ALL) Carcass albums have been written better by contemporaries. Exhumed wrote a better version of Necroticism with Anatomy Is Destiny, etc.

Listening to Waking The Cadaver now...really mediocre, but not especially bad. Don't enjoy the vocals at all, but the music is just generic whatever-it-counts-as.

I know I'm a little late to the game here but I just listened to Therion's Beyond Sanctorum for the first time and I must say it's probably one of the best death metal albums I've ever heard. Fucking amazing. :headbang:

i'm a fan of Death Metal.

favorite bands in the genre are:
Behemoth
Gorguts
Death
Caphelic Carnage
Miseration
Cannibal Corpse
The Berzerker
Impending Doom
Horsemen Of The Apocalypse
Kataklysm
Vader
Bloodbath

Yeah. Beyond Sanctorum rules. I have the shitty reissue version though. Therion's first album is really generic on the other hand.

I was just thinking about how we use to upload sick old school death metal demo's all the time. Swizzlenuts had this folder with every last old school death metal album and demo in it. I use to have it on my old comp and miss it.

First time i heard it i thought it was the worst piece of crap i´ve ever heard. Took a couple of spins to appreciate it.

That's weird. Beyond Sanctorum hit me just about immediately. Of Darkness is more straight-forward but I still like it a lot.

I think I know what you're talking about but I can't think of what song it is either.

Of Darkness... obviously isn't revolutionary like Beyond Sanctorum is but I don't see what's not to like about it.
