I don't think they actually genuinely believe what they're saying - they say this shit and convince themselves they believe it, but if they did they'd be doing something different, I think.

Also, they ignore the fact that there were several significant empires in Africa. They also just don't have a fucking clue what they're talking about. Both would benefit from a good read of Guns, Germs, And Steel.

Arghoslent are great. I would say that they are probably my favorite newer American death metal band. And beyond that I would say that they are even better than quite a bit of the old school American death metal (like most of the Florida and California dm).

Opinions on Deathevokation?
I've listened to only one song but it did not impress me much. I expected some good Death Metal in the vein of old school bands but I just heard some Melodic Death Metal. It was also quite slow. (no gothenburg)

Listen to the full album. It's masterful Death Metal, one of the genre's best since its glory days. It's also totally old school - just not in the American style, but European (particularly Swedish/Finnish).
I will admit that it takes a fair amount of listening to fully sink in, but when it does, it's incredible.

Arghoslent is a rock-solid riff-oriented band, though I tend to fine them slightly too bouncy and up-beat for my personal tastes. "Galloping through the Battle Ruins" is bloody epic, though.

Bullshit. They're easily among the best modern DM bands going today. They're unique, execute their style wonderfully, and bring fucking riffs in droves!
