For me these days straight-up death metal doesn't hold my attention a great deal. Septic Flesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse have just raised the (my) bar way too high. I still dig the old Morbid Angel and Dismember albums, but yeah, if you're going to give me tickets to a death metal show I'm going to want tickets to the symphony orchestra these days too.

That's actually quite sad, nothing much gets me more excited as some punishing old school Death Metal does, I get chills when I listen to Deceased.

Not that I wouldn't also love to go and see a symphony orchestra.
Also, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Septic Flesh raised the bar so high that you can't enjoy raw and old Death Metal? I find that hard to believe, but then again I have no idea how anybody could enjoy bands like that.

Septicflesh's new album is awful. Haven't fucked with FGA since they dropped the brutal part of their music for lighter full on symphonic stuff.
