Wow, I seemed to have burned out on some of those, fundamental bands(Morbid Angel, Incantation, Possessed, Entombed), so sorry if my list is kind of weird. I'll return to them in a year or two.

In addition,I was trying not to repeat albums that were already posted by others. Most of those are still considered classics, though.

Dismember - Like An Ever Flowing Stream (really though, it's hard chossing my favourite Dismember album)
Eucharist - A Velvet Creation
Molested - Blod Draum
Opeth - Morningrise (even if this isn't purely death metal)

There are tons of albums out there that are great (Caducity, Therion, Unanimated, Tiamat, Demilich, The Chasm etc.) that I have not listened to enough yet, so it would be extremely hard for me to make my complete list at the current time.

Thanks for all the lists, everyone. I guess I'll prioritize based on which albums are mentioned most frequently in all these lists. I may do one more haul while I'm down here, and will probably get about 5 of those albums.

death/doom that is more on the OSDM side. there were a bunch of other bands i was gonna put in my top ten (God Macabre, Mystic Charm, Gorement, Eternal Darkness) but Nuctemeron isn't mentioned as often.

I'm pretty sure we are the only people who have ever mentioned them. I wouldn't put them near a top ten 'essential classics' list though.
