At this point in the game pretty much any metal enthusiast knows what they're going to get going into a Dimmu album. So unless you have some outside obligations why even go there in the first place if you know how their style tickles you?

It's a little heart wrenching honestly. I think a lot of bands need to forget about image for a minute and focus on the music though...

Dimmu fiering Vortex is a loss yeah. Tho i do think dimmu is doing the right tactics to stay alive. Making changes makes them provide something new to each album. I cant say i personally is the biggest dimmu fan but i do recognise the quality of music they make. I get bored listening to the last 2 dimmu albums and hope they make a new more interresting turn on the next album.

The choir is a cool concept, but is definitely not a suitable replacement for Vortex. Just think of the tens of thousands of dollars they dropped on that performance.

Instead of focusing on playing and writing good music they have overblown cheesy keyboards and hire orchestra's. So they can appear to make intelligent classical inspired music for naive metal listeners who know nothing. Seriously lame fucking band. Not to mention stereotypical within the genre.

They have forgotten how to write good riffs, and good songs. Now they sound like a soundtrack to a Hollywood movie, with some metal guys as the backup band.On the Puritanical album they had a good balance with cool riffs and good songs. The keys and orchestral moments added atmosphere and an epic quality to the music, but now it has been way over done.Get back to playing some metal guys.

and by how poorly they sounded, it sounds like it was money wasted. seriously, maybe it's just me, but it sounds like they're just not into it. not to mention, some of singers don't appear to be contributing, or even keeping up, with the parts.
