I think it is a reasonable question. People tend to see things one dimensionally when they feel strongly about it. I think almost every parent would want to beat the shit out of anyone who sexually abused their children, and in all honesty part of me totally supports that.

The above attempts to relate that "violence begets more violence" ..and that committing the same crime of murder in response to a crime of murder does nothing but make those executioners guilty of the same crime.

I would immediately stop loving any member of my family who did a serious sexual crime (assuming I believed they had ). I would recommend the death sentence then with no regrets. If they had any decency themselves they would agree they deserved that. I could imagine someone having a lot of remorse and agreeing they deserved execution. Or not even having the remorse (example: moors murderer Ian Brady), and saying they deserve death.
We should put execution of extreme criminals in the context of the number of people who commit suicide for depression or aborted babies. Criminals are a lot less worthy of life than people like that.
