Euro 2004 road to the final

The England match has been pretty intense to this point. I saw the goal that got dissallowed but then I Walked my GF home thinking we'd bagged the game... I bet we'll lose now. I ain't too fussed, but it'd be nice after seeing what an injustice the disallowed goal was.

Do the Dark Tranquillity members like football? I take they're all rooting for Sweden.

If we ever all meet Like Kov suggested ealier this month we should have a big game of football. It woiuld be random, and I nearly always break my toe when I play but it would be great fun I bet.
 
Here in the US the only soccer ,oops I mean football news we get is who is David Beckham hose'n ???
So I'll share this I got from a Dutch Friend last week -
we're playing Germany tonight in the European Soccer Championship and that means war. It always has been war and it always will be war. At that time Germans in Holland better pretend they're dutch. So in about an hour it's going to kick off. Today I bought orange cookies for work and we all got an orange hat with the dutch flag on it as well as an orange duffelbag. Just to get into the right mood (yes it's my job to arrange these sort of things). And as always there are people complaining they don't like football, blablalba, well they can always give back the goodies and I will give them to someone else (surprisingly enough no one did). I really hope we will win otherwise we will hear it for ages (us dutchies I mean). Don't know if you ever followed the worldchampions soccer (I know it's not a big sport in the States). But Germany always won with the help of a referree. Somehow referrees seem to take the side of Germany in main championships. The only time we beat them big time was in 1988 when we became European champion (those were the days). And now we do have these incredibly good players, but unfortunately it's not a real team. Hopefully they will have learned how to play in a team by now. At least I enjoyed the match between England and France. Usually I hate French things and everything that has to do with France but not with soccer. They have some marvellous players and they did win in the extra time right at the end.

Holland RULES !!!
 
I actually don't think Sweden will make it very far. They kicked some ass against the Bulgarians when they scored five goals, and if a team makes five goals in a game where the opponents are on the same level, it's good. But when they played against Italy and Denmark they weren't playing good. The 2-2 goal towards Denmark seemed like it was quite much luck involved.

i'm most pissed off england has been knocked out yesterday. i was seriously hoping they would win. :cry:
as for italy, i'm glad they didn't even manage to qualify. they're just a bunch of idiots pretending to be able to play.
 
At work here we have a proud (but very cool) Portuguese guy in the office right in front of mine, as well as a Greek guy a few offices down from us. Needless to say, it's been hilarious around here the past week.
Mannie, the Portuguese guy will be here in a few minutes (we're back from a 3-day weekend) He was so into his team and into winning this cup ..a hardcore fan and a sore loser.
The Greek dude printed a large color photo of the Greek team holding the cup and pasted it right on Mannie's computer screen in his desk :lol:
This should be interesting.. :D
 
I am posting after so many days because it is about from Sunday untill today and i am still so happy with that we done WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS MY FRIEND

Oh it was hilarious.
But overall he took it pretty well, he did admit that the Greeks played quite well and deserved to win ..seeing as they never do anyways :heh:

But now...

Copa America 2004!

Colombia is out as group leader from the first round and will annihilate all
..the Mexicans, the Brazilians, and the Argentinians (who've been talking a lot of trash)

This'll be the 2nd Copa America we win in a row :Smokedev:

Yeah, the Portuguese were very understanding of our situation, it amazed us a lot. :loco:

I wish i could watch the Copa America games, but it's on channels we don't have (the ones you have to pay for). :(
