Doom (all kinds) and things like Arcturus, Peccatum, Atrox, Ephel Duath... music with metal roots but searching for something more...

Dragonforce are classed as Battle Metal, I think it has something to do with the fans actually doing battle with plastic weapons... bit odd but nevermind

i cant tell whether you are being serious, because you say a lot of stupid things. but because you mentioned "battle metal" without any context of a joke, i can only assume you think it exists. dragonforce are power metal - battle metal probably falls in with "viking metal", otherwise known as "non-existent genres of metal, metal"

Folk, Viking, and Black. However, I find myself liking alot of post-black and avant-garde things as well.

Battle metal, to my knowledge, while being made up usually refers to bands like Axis of Advance.
