>>>>One of your favorite bands nightwish are power metal.

Yeah, but they break the mold. They don't do the speedy riffing like Stratovarious or something...they are more than happy to change up the tempo.

Plus Tarja's vocals are divine. She started Opera metal...if you have a taste for the metal opera combo, no other band is better.

OK then I like power metal. Good stuff, especially the guitars. Gets old fast tho.

Very old, very fast...

Funny, some people consider Iced Earth and Blind Guardian to be power metal, but then I go and look for other power bands and they have some pussy ass feel to them... Latter Helloween for one... Pisses me off.

Helstar's Nosferatu was the first power metal album I ever appreciated, and I still like it plenty, some of the haters might want to check that one out.

@ killbot-what are some good cybergrind bands? The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are twodeadsluts onegoodfuck and agoraphobis nosebleed

That's, like, contradictory. I've always seen groove as the anti-thrash.

I don't know, but didn't the thrash band Overkill tread in "groove" territory in their later years? I've not heard any of the later albums, except Relixiv, that's just what I've been told...

Yeah, anyway, who's up for creating the "Nosferatu" thread? Funny, cos I was listening to this on my iPod at work today, went through the thing twice, what a great album.

That's just my point. When great thrash bands start losing quality, they become "groovy". Exodus did the same thing.

Yeah, but Im choosy about Sludge, as there's a whole stack of fucking losers who think ultimo-distortion= Teh WinnAr.

Crowbar, Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Soilent Green, Acid Bath are the principle sludge bands I actually LIKE.
