Favorite Metal Sub-genres (This time with a poll :) )

they sound like nu-metal crapola to me.

They are like a dark bluesy stoner/alternative metal. The music isn't that technical but the atmosphere is amazing. They blow any Nu Metal out of the water.

I generally prefer the extreme genres. I must admit, that I'm not much into the very early metal that closely resembles rock, as I do not like rock.

I love classic rock from the late 60's-early 70's but I never much liked classic heavy metal with the exception of a couple Judas Priest songs and old school Metallica.

My fave is death metal, followed closely by black metal and thrash (of the extreme Kreator/Sodom variety, not stuff like Megadeth and Testament). I also really like extreme doom metal. power, death, heavy, black metal, just about anything that sounds good. Im starting to get into Al Di Meola and some jazz here and there. Its always good to mix around with music styles for more ideas.

I like early death/thrash metal best. Also, some of that groove metal. I listen to some of the other types but those 3 I tend to like those the most.
