My favorites are death metal and black metal. I like both equally but right now I'm really feeling the black metal so I'll vote for that.

I find it interesting how black metal is the most popular genre on this board. The genre certainly has less fans than heavy metal or death metal. This forum was designed to cater to fans of all genres of metal, yet black metal seems to be the center of gravity in the collective genre pool of posters' tastes here.

I think the idea that Black Metal is unpopular among sensible metal heads is largely a misnomer. In fact, in nearly every metal board/community I visit black metal is by far the most talked about and popular metal genre. Not that this method is scientific in the slightest but its telling to some degree I guess.
