Folk Metal anyone?

don't really know what people see in Skyclad. I bought Jonah's Ark and thought it was cringeworthy, cheesy and laughable.
Well i really like their riffs... that is what i see in Skyclad. Like someone already said on this forum: "it's all about the riffs" :kickass:
As for the greatest folk stuff... i think Windir did it.. with "Arntor".
But it's just my opinion :). No offence pls.

I like asmegin. I have not really looked into folk metal. I like how asmegin still has some very metallish elements in their music, even lower vocals. The guitar playing really goes well with the other string instrumentations.

Amorphis 'eclipse' has folk elements scattered around.

elvenking/korpiklaani/ensferium

really the only ones i listen to that are considered or close to folk metal.

I like very much Finntroll and Ulver of Bergtatt times, but my knowledge in this genre stops here. But I think I'll get more Folk Metal albums, because I like it very much...

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter are a weird band, mixing death metal, folk, industrial, and just about anything you can think of into one ... odd but great sound.
