GMD Poll: Exodus's Discography Ranked

Mystification (1987)

Mystification - 3/5 (jangly Manilla Road like a more conservative Return of the Old Ones, with a heavier middle-section)
Dragon Star - 3/5 (melodic arpeggiated Manilla Road, pleasant ballad)
Masque of the Red Death - 3/5 (funny that their grandfather clock is out of tune and timing, has some Coroner-esque riffing, I'm noticing now that the 'Remember Tomorrow' chord progression (or something close) pops up multiple times on both this album and The Deluge)
Haunted Palace - 2/5 (more generic trad but with some guitar trills, the solo and post-solo jam riff are neat though)
The Asylum - 2/5 (instrumental, bonus track apparently, some decent ideas but feels half-baked)
Spirits of the Dead - 2/5 (also uninspiring riffs but has some more ringing chords and a lighter mood than the first three songs)
Valley of Unrest - 1.5/5 (man the same riff just keeps coming)
Death by the Hammer - 1.5/5 (wtf, I swear they've written almost this exact same song before)
Up from the Crypt - 1/5 (garbage thrash riffs)
Children of the Night - 1/5 (generic marching trad that's 7 minutes long)

No apologies.

Sorry for getting behind on this. I calculated the results but didn’t have time to post the results. I’m traveling this weekend and consequently had a lot of real work to do during the week. I’ll get the results posted on Tuesday or Wednesday. And I’ll launch the Fates Warning one on Monday when I get home.

To me 2010 has been a year of disapointments:

Exodus - Exhibit B: Never really bad but its loooooooong. It has a few great things on there but the next album should be 8 songs and they should be picky about what makes the record and what does not.

#9 The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A (2007)

The Atrocity Exhibition is awesome as shit.

Call To Arms intro is just fucking badass

Alot of people seem to have negative things to say about that album but it still kicks my ass. Really good stuff!

The CD just sounds like pedaling for the entire album. It was really boring IMO and the only good song is the hidden track:lol:
