GMD Poll: Slayer's Discography Ranked

Hell Awaits
South of Heaven
Seasons in the Abyss
Reign in Blood
Show No Mercy
Divine Intervention
Christ Illusion
God Hates Us All
World Painted Blood
Diabolus in Musica

Haven't heard Repentless and didn't count Undisputed Attitude as its mainly a covers album but its pretty damn great. World Painted Blood has some good moments but its ultimately neutered by the paper thin production.

God Hates Us All gets the razzy because it was slayer releasing WWE entrance music.
PAYBACKS A BITCH MUDDAFUCKA

Reign in blood
Hell awaits
Divine intervention
Seasons of the abyss
South of heaven
Undisputed attitude
World painted blood
Show no mercy
God hates us all
Diabolus in musica

Haven't listened to Christ illusion or repentless enough to decide where to slot it. Haunting the chapel is my favorite release of theirs

More than half of Slayer's discography is pretty much dogshit. How do people worship this band after Divine Intervention? Even that album isn't so good.

think i've heard all of the others at least once but i'm not gonna pretend i know how to rank them, nor do i particularly want to revisit them.

Undisputed Attitude is more listenable than any of the newer stuff, which is like a different band that I'm not really into. Not as thrashy, and with modern production Tom's vocals stick out like a sore thumb.

Listenable or not, it only has ONE Slayer song on there.

And WPB and Christ Illusion, while not great, are just as thrashy as any of their other albums. But yeah, Diabolus and GHUA are groove albums that pretend to be thrashy, even bordering nu-metal at times.

I haven't spun GHUA in over a decade, nor do I intend to do so any time soon, but I do credit the album for helping to wean me off the shriveled, saggy teat of nu metal.
