#11 Demonic (1997)

Defenetly the worst Testament album, not a bad album but compared to some masterpieces!

I quite like Demonic, i love the first 2 tracks and still play them alot, Chucks growl is just bonecrushing !!! I also really like Hatreds Rise and Ten thousand thrones, The rest of the songs il admit im not overly keen on and dont play often but i dont mind them.

Demonic is the worst Testament album. Low is miles ahead of it.

Demonic actually got me into death metal. It has lost some of its allure now that I can tolerate tr00er albums/bands, but I still enjoy it. Definitely better than their 88-92 period.

#10 The Formation of Damnation (2008)

The Formation Of Damnation was the biggest snoozefest of this year, at least for me. It really sucks, specially now that Alex is back.

I think The Formation of Damnation is one of the best newer thrash albums I've heard.

I love Death Angel's Killing Season and liked Formation of Damnation, although the enjoyment wore off relatively quick for FoD.

#8 Low (1994)

I personally like "Low" better than any other Testament album.

We'd all like to pretend Testament never released Low and The Ritual, but they did...

Low is not a bad release for Testament trying to blend in with the regular 90's southern metal. It's not classsic but a better attempt as metal than 90's metallica megadeth and slayer.

#6 The Gathering (1999)

Average points per vote: 5.11/11

The Gathering is the best album that any of the old thrash bands have put-out in a decade.

Shit, they had James Murphy on lead guitar, Steve DiGiorgio on bass, and the drummer god, Dave Lombardo on the drums...could it be any less stellar? Best Testament album, hands down. But better than Megadeth? Heavier, yes. Better than Rust in Peace? No.

#5 Souls of Black (1990)

Average points per vote: 6.54/11

I wish Souls of Black had good production. Some of the weakest production I have ever heard.
And yeah, Testament never seems to change tempo much which makes it difficult listening to an entire album straight through.

Anyone else hear Testament trying to play a Metallica album when they listen to Souls of Black? Not that it's bad or anything...

Anyways, listening to Souls of Black. Haven't popped this in my cd player in a while.

It's kinda underrated imo

#2 The New Order (1988)

First place votes: 4

The New Order is shiny guitar intro music with thrash influences. To be fair it's one of those albums that is better listened to than in my head, but it's still nothing better than average for Testament, let alone other Bay Area bands, let alone other thrash bands in general, let alone other metal albums in general.

The New Order and Practice What You Preach are both great Testament albums. Id have to say I like The New Order better of the two. It has some of their greatest songs on there, Disciples of the Watch, The New Order, Trial By Fire, and Into The Pit. IMO Its probably their second best album behind their legendary debut The Legacy.

It's because four people ranked Practice What You Preach in the bottom four, while only two ranked The Ritual that low (and one wasn't a complete list, so the impact as big). Even with that, the difference between the two albums was minimal. Had one person ranked PWYP two spots higher or Ritual two spots lower, they would have switched spots.
