GMD Poll: Testament's Discography Ranked

@TechnicalBarbarity

For the last time, I am not arguing with you that Chuck Billy does not have a good vocal range (or about anything else). All I did was caution you against posting information from The Range Place because most of it is unverified and the site has a lot of errors on it.

I posted my assessment of the data provided because it really isn't hard to believe that he has a vocal range that's just under 3.5 octaves since that's not even uncommon. I'm literally saying that your statement could easily be true.

then i must have misunderstood you. My bad.

edit: But just to clarify things, did you not imply that he does not have an exception vocal range for a thrash vocalist in one of your responses? I could have sworn you did. And i also asked for you to show me all those errors that site is supposedly littered with. Not a fair request?

Man I only had to listen to 4 or 5 albums to get the order. Took less time than I thought:

1) The New Order
2) The Legacy
3) Dark Roots of Earth
4) The Ritual
5) The Gathering (Lombardo's drumming saves this album)
6) Low
7) Souls of Black
7) Practice What You Preach
9) The Formation of Damnation
10) Brotherhood of the Snake
11) Demonic

... really? Because the guy is almost 60 years old. No one here is saying he's halford. He also showcased techniques on those later albums that he did not show early on.

edit: Anyway, i find it kind of funny how some of you guys can pretend that you've heard all of their albums and then proceed to actually question the mans vocal range.

Outside of The Legacy and The New Order I haven't listened to a lot of Testament. I enjoyed listening to Low, Souls of Black, The Ritual and The Gathering more than I expected I would. I have seen Testament a few times and wasn't impressed with their live performance. Each time they have been the weakest band on the stage.

Gonna give this one more week and close it next Friday, mostly for selfish reasons. I'm still familiarizing myself with their three most recent albums, and want to give The New Order a few more listens to see if it grows on me (I would say I like it, but am having trouble seeing why so many people have it ranked first). I really love The Legacy and overall enjoy their first five albums are strong The stuff from Low onwards is pretty mediocre, until Dark Roots of Earth, which is a hell of a comeback album.

That said, the deadline for votes and revisions is 2/16 at 5 PM PST.
