Sorry but I know fuck about what pedals and effects do: what would that do exactly?
why??
I would chop off my left nut for Nazgul's gear
And question for you more experienced people in songmaking.
I'm trying to get my COBOT Album track's volume as high as I can get it without clipping. I have understood that you can use compressors/limiters for this. But I have almost no idea how they work, and my end result is either..
-Too "compressed" i.e not punchy enough
-Too low
-Too high, resulting in clipping
-When parts in the song with only one instrument gets abnormally higher than it was when it's played alone. Then goes back to low volume when everything kicks in.
Got any tips? Would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to learn how to do this
mix it on low volume, send the mix and i will make it blast the fuck out of yer speakers
I also do that
I <3 my guitars.

p.s:sorry for the sloppy playing + I'm too lazy to learn the solo
yeah but, what does a limiter do exactly? And how the fuck do you start "mixing" and "mastering" by yourself? I mean, I know I've attempted it a few times, but I generally have no idea what the hell I'm doing when I do it.
I dunno what a limiter does, but if I'm not mistaken mixing is putting all the tracks together into the song like you want them to sound (pannings, volumes, individual effects and that shit) and mastering is giving the final sound to the track as a whole. If I'm wrong someone correct me
I usually pan the guitars first, then start working with the compressors and EQ and then, finally, I add some reverb and stuff to the final thing.
