Guitar Player's Thread

Yeah the tone isn't great. I didn't use my PX4 for that, I mic'd up my mate's Line 6 Spider amp (sounds shit in person too!) with a crappy mic with loads of room noise! :p

I think I tabbed the intro to SUS but I never learnt the whole thing but it's such a good song, even now.

That's the tab I use, some parts are a bit off but it's the closest one I've found.

Pretty sick looking guitar(s)

Well I like them anyways.

That's a pretty obvious Bernie Rico knockoff though =/

Either way, I would like to give an 8 string a try.

Sorry for doublepost. Just found this and thought it was pretty cool.

Thanks for the tab guys, I'll go get my Warlock and get it tuned to A!

And I just played through it, realised it's kinda boring to play, so I'm now tuned to EEE playing Let The Computer Decide by Paul Gilbert!

Try the bends of Iskander d'hul Karnon:kickass:

That song has the best verse riff ever, it's just an E power chord then a sweep just comes in from nowhere. I really don't understand why Karl sweeps so sloppily on songs like Sacrifice Unto Sebek (it's an awesome song, but you know that it's true) when it's SHOWN that he can sweep cleanly in that song and his solos in Khem Khefa Kheshef (favourite from Those Whom the Gods Detest :D)

I've never been much interested in Nile really. I've tried getting into them and they just haven't really done it for me. Idk, not my thing I guess.

I've tried but it's too difficult to me. I can't even fingerpick anything except Nothing Else Matters...

I was thinking the same thing...listening to it thinking "oh these aren't actually that bad for once..."

I should probably give a legitimate listen to Nile, I've only heard a couple songs.

Does anyone around here like to play classical? I mean like, actual classical, not neoclassical. XD

I do, I started jazz lessons like 6 or more months ago now it's sort of turned into brazilian classical stuff. it's actually not as hard as i thought, i went from not being able to read well for guitar at all to looking at pretty difficult pieces and learning them just by reading.

Kem Khefa Kheshef's solo is a one hell of a sweep picking party. My favourite from that album is 4th Arra of Dagon. So epic.

I learned classical a while ago, but I never practiced so I was shit haha, I still play whenever I'm bored and incorporate it into my music, but I'm only Grade 1 standard

ARRA! ARRA! ARRA!
DAGON! DAGON! DAGON!

The lyrics are godlike too in that song and the outro with the group chant is the most evil thing I've ever heard in a song, trufax

My guitar is tuned in B standard with a 12-54 set (Nile is in Drop A), I can bend 2 and a half steps, using at least 2 fingers to do it.

Well Karl uses a .10 on the high B, that plus scallops explains it.

I just do my best to teach myself Bach and stuff. I've had no lessons. And I can read music, but not very well. I have to have a recording and I have to go one bar at a time. Whenever I do make a youtube video of guitar playing, I'll probably play some kinda classical shit, 'cause I'm better at it than electric, probably...

This isn't really classical, but it makes me kinda like french people. =\
