Guitar Player's Thread

Wow! Really cool man! I liked it a lot.

I don't really have any "advice" because I think its really great already, but just a personal preference; It would be cool at 0:45 part where the violin is the main focus to maybe have the violins do quiet and fast tremolo there instead of just legato bowing, and maybe add another violin harmony along with it, usually orchestras have 2 violin sections doing different parts at times.

That's just an artistic suggestion, because i think this it's awesome as is and Im just excited about it cus wish I would make stuff like this! haha

So we had a conversation a few weeks ago on here about how painted necks aren't nearly as smooth as satin and someone, I believe it was Rob posted that video of the man who demonstrated how you could sand down a little bit of the finish off of your guitar and get that satin feel. I'd also heard that's it's helpful on white guitars once they age because as they do they get that off white color and sanding them down a bit restores the whiteness.

Anyhow, I got bored while I was restringing and cleaning my jackson last night and decided to do that. I must say that not only did it restore the color quite well, but the neck on my guitar has never felt any better than it does now. I highly recommend it to anyone who has a painted neck guitar. Probably not the most interesting thing you'll read all day, but fuck, it made me happy lol.

sounds good! what's the video

A friend of mine had it and he brought it with him on his external harddisk. Believe he downloaded it with torrents though.

Lowberg....what is your honest opinion on the Engl Preamp? I have been eyeballing one on CL here in FL but have never gotten a chance to play around with one.

Guy is selling his VHT 2/50/2 and Engle e530 for $900.00 in a 4 space rack. I know the VHT is about as good as it gets, just not too familiar with Engl products.

Its okay. I'd give it an 7.5/10. Im sure it would sound better with that vht poweramp than my shitty old peavey one.
It has a different sound than like the powerball/fireball series, so dont expect exactly that tone in a rack.
Having said that, it is still definitely a ballsy metal amp.

Aren't those VHT poweramps like way expensive? If you bought that and didnt like it, you could probably end up selling them for a couple hundred more than you bought lol

It was a great amp to me, I just am looking to get out of rack gear.
Didnt like the clean channel much but Pshhh clean channel wtf is that

This guy's video does the tone of the e530 good justice, but remember hes also a very good player so don't let that influence your perception of the tone lol Im sure he could make any amp sound good.
