Guitar Player's Thread

Yea I cant wait for 70,000 tons of metal. Its going to be fucking awesome regardless of what bands end up playing. If bodom is on the cruise im just going to troll them the entire week and mess with alexi

Enmitty...glad you finally got your rig and you are loving it. Sounds like you are gonna be very happy with it.

Lowberg.....if I were going to get one of those I would get the orange one...I mean its fucking orange.....it awesome. Don't see too many orange guitars these days.

As for the metal cruise......to me it sounds like it would only be fun if you were a single male. I just imagine a cruise ship full of smelly guys looking to get drunk and get laid. What I don't see is a very big female crowd on a boat like this. I could be wrong, but it sounds like a total sausage fest. Plus I know my pale ass would be sun burnt after the first day.

Welcome to Metal.

The only time Metal wasn't a sausage fest was during the Glam era.

There are a few girls on the cruise.... probably there trying to get with the band members.

Hey recording/software fags!

I need some help in getting some stuff. Basically I'm getting a new computer for graduation/18th birthday, and my dad has basically left it up to me what kind of software/gear I want. So what I want to get out of this is; cost effective recording for all styles of music (I play a lot of jazz, classical stuff, but metal too), also I really need some software that can help me transcribe my music fast, and a program with sounds/patches to my disposal, like a symphony in a box kind of thing. Honestly I've never really done my own recording at all, so I'd love stuff that's easy to grasp and I can tinker with for the summer. The music school I'm going to has professional studio so I don't really plan on going all out anytime soon, just want to tinker and be able to hear my music in all of it glory :0

oh, ideally i'd want one of those all-in-one kind of packages, with monitors, interface, mic, software...etc. but i'm open to buying things individually if it works out better

I think Sibelius would be a lot faster since you know your way around notation already. Guitar Pro only really "shines" as a composition software for guitarists who primarily think in tablatures, but it has regular notation too, and it's the one I use since I've used it for years now. Old habit eyh. Give both a spin, I'm sure there are demos to try out.

This is a good deal for samples of various kind, pick and mix from various packs. But even with the 75% off, it's pretty steep for just messing around I guess. Throwing it out here regardless.

I specifically don't want Guitar Pro, I can't make my way around it for pure notation stuff, at least on the mac. Sibelius and Finale have always been the two forerunners so i'll check into those, I have a cheapo version made by finale that i'll check out again to see if that may work.

and yeah Ensie, what the fuck
