I knew you'd like them! The plastic ones on 1996+ MIJ Jacksons look like piece of shit :D

And thanks for the answers! You can check what soundcard you have in your PC with the control panel.

Yeah definitely, I'm so glad I didn't choose the RR24!!!!!!

Ok, here the tonetest for the eZDrummer,

Sorry for the old school riffs

EDIT: Nice Pics, Mitch. The RG drives me wild!

Jesus dude, record some damn songs 'cause that tone is BADASS. I'm jealous of that!!

@ Warheart: Really fucking awesome!!!

Thanks!! :kickass:

Thanks, I really appreciate that. Btw, did you like the drum sound? How fast is your internet connection?

Yeah, the drum sound was cool! That intro was fckin badass. The only thing I didn't like was the kickdrum, it sounded really "floppy" like it hadn't been tuned tight enough but the snare and cymbals/hihats were awesome.

My connection? I'm not actually sure. It's quite quick though.

You should be, have you played one other than the day you saw PG?

Nah, only that. But ignoring the terrible shop setup, it didn't feel anywhere near as nice as the Stars RR.

I think they wanted to create a real doublebass-feeling, so that both kicks sound different. I noticed that, too, but I don't know how to change the pitch of the drums with eZDrummer (if it's possible).

Mitch...the fretboard on your jackson stars looks damn hi quality :zombie:

I would bloody hope so, it cost me over £1000!!!

Yeah, I've heard about this too but there should be a way to tune them up.

And I meant to point this out earlier but I forgot. I now have a bunch of guitars with all different specs.

I have a gtr with a Rosewood, Ebony and a Maple fretboard.
A gtr with a fixed bridge, a recessed bridge and the strat one which doesn't pull up.
A gtr with all single coils, all humbuckers and a mixture of both.
I have strat pickups, ibanez pickups, a jackson, bc rich and an EMG pickup.
And I have 2 that are different scale lengths.

I like having guitars that represent my influences too.

Strat - Yngwie
Warlock - Mick Thompson
Ibanez - Paul Gilbert
Jackson RR - Alexi Laiho.

I can't think of anything else I want right now so I don't think I'll be buying any guitars anytime soon.

Dno tbh. I haven't touched that thing since I got it 'cause I'm always on the computer. Now that I've got my Jackson, I think I might start practising after work instead of coming on here for mutiple hours everynight.

It's hard for US to decide when we haven't heard your current tone.

That is my problem dude! I have no way of recording for you guys to hear my tone. Anyway, I decided I'll go for the korg unit, being only around $50 :kickass: Now I need is a sound card adapter thing and some guidance in using cool edit pro.

What i love about Guitar Pro + fruity loops is that it's probably the easiest way to make the drums exactly how you want them, although at the expense of sound quality.

Yeah, I'm so use to make drums with Guitar Pro I don't want to learn anything else.

Is there anyway to use the drum in Guitar Pro but to export it in somethig, a DrumMachine that run Midi?

Right, here's some more pics of the guitars. Some are singles and then there's some group shots too.

I'll only upload a few into the thread 'cause there's quite a few but I also uploaded a .rar file with them all in.

want secks with all now...... you already have the special shag pillows  :lol:those are...awesome!

Yep. Your point is? If this wasn't an extremely useful piece of equipment, I wouldn't have used it everyday for like 3 years instead of getting something better.

Well, I'm not trying to boasting but I really really love my amp. so I'd rather find a way to mic it than to go thru some processer TBH.

I don't know what kind of a randall you have, but I have an engl powerball and I NEVER use it to record. Tube-Stacks have to be very loud to sound how they should. And no, a dynamic microphone is not always better than dealing with multifx.

99,99999% of the homerecorded things with fx/plugins sound better than miced amps, because the people don't know anything about how to setup mics.

Here are some recordings of a guy from a german forum. He plugs his guitar straight into his soundcard. The guitarsound is made with freeware plugins:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-219552/Behind-The-Lie.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-201315/graveheart.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-243000/Drowning-Stone.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-219555/Demonic.mp3.html

So, IMO: If you are very good at the whole recording, mixing stuff, and you have the right equipment, than use a mic. For every other musician, FX and Plugins are the way to go.

Opinions?

you can sound like that straight through a soundcard? XD. Any chance you'd mind some kind of "mini tutorial?" :erk:

I've heard of programs that let you "process" your sound through any combination of amps. i.e. I sent the comp my dry guitar sound, and i can say, "stick it through a marshall JCM 2203 and back out through a 1960 lead." and then say I don't like it anymore, i say, "stick it through the Kerry King head instead" or something like that.

That's a very good rhythm tone for sure. I'd be interested in going in the direction of plugins if knew what I was doing.

Sounds like he's using DKFH for the drums though so that automatically makes stuff sound better than any of this GP4/soundfont stuff that I'm using. I downloaded 2 DKFH torrents and installed them and I've got the samples but nothing happened so I don't actually know how to open it and see the on-screen drumkit...very annoying.

I took some more guitar pics earlier so I'll post those later too.

what exactly is DKFH? do i need something else to run it?

I'm satisfied at the moment. I' ve downloaded eZDrummer with the Metal Expansion, it's the forerunner of the DKFH, as far as I know.

The eZDrummer has all the "typical" Metal grooves and some special ones. So I take them and customize the rhythm in my sequencer. I could record and upload an example, if anyone's interested.

So I'd just say, "gallop rhythm bass" and then say I wanted quarter note hi-hat, I can just say "quarter note hi-hat?"

What i love about Guitar Pro + fruity loops is that it's probably the easiest way to make the drums exactly how you want them, although at the expense of sound quality.

is that explained in the tutorial someone posted that epi made?
