I knew you'd like them! The plastic ones on 1996+ MIJ Jacksons look like piece of shit
And thanks for the answers! You can check what soundcard you have in your PC with the control panel.

EDIT: Nice Pics, Mitch. The RG drives me wild!
Thanks, I really appreciate that. Btw, did you like the drum sound? How fast is your internet connection?Jesus dude, record some damn songs 'cause that tone is BADASS.
Yeah definitely, I'm so glad I didn't choose the RR24!!!!!!

You should be, have you played one other than the day you saw PG?
I think they wanted to create a real doublebass-feeling, so that both kicks sound different. I noticed that, too, but I don't know how to change the pitch of the drums with eZDrummer (if it's possible).Yeah, the drum sound was cool! That intro was fckin badass. The only thing I didn't like was the kickdrum, it sounded really "floppy" like it hadn't been tuned tight enough but the snare and cymbals/hihats were awesome.
Mitch...the fretboard on your jackson stars looks damn hi quality :zombie:

It's hard for US to decide when we haven't heard your current tone.
What i love about Guitar Pro + fruity loops is that it's probably the easiest way to make the drums exactly how you want them, although at the expense of sound quality.
Right, here's some more pics of the guitars. Some are singles and then there's some group shots too.
I'll only upload a few into the thread 'cause there's quite a few but I also uploaded a .rar file with them all in.

Yep. Your point is? If this wasn't an extremely useful piece of equipment, I wouldn't have used it everyday for like 3 years instead of getting something better.

I don't know what kind of a randall you have, but I have an engl powerball and I NEVER use it to record. Tube-Stacks have to be very loud to sound how they should. And no, a dynamic microphone is not always better than dealing with multifx.
99,99999% of the homerecorded things with fx/plugins sound better than miced amps, because the people don't know anything about how to setup mics.
Here are some recordings of a guy from a german forum. He plugs his guitar straight into his soundcard. The guitarsound is made with freeware plugins:
http://www.file-upload.net/download-219552/Behind-The-Lie.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-201315/graveheart.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-243000/Drowning-Stone.mp3.html
http://www.file-upload.net/download-219555/Demonic.mp3.html
So, IMO: If you are very good at the whole recording, mixing stuff, and you have the right equipment, than use a mic. For every other musician, FX and Plugins are the way to go.
Opinions?
That's a very good rhythm tone for sure. I'd be interested in going in the direction of plugins if knew what I was doing.
Sounds like he's using DKFH for the drums though so that automatically makes stuff sound better than any of this GP4/soundfont stuff that I'm using. I downloaded 2 DKFH torrents and installed them and I've got the samples but nothing happened so I don't actually know how to open it and see the on-screen drumkit...very annoying.
I took some more guitar pics earlier so I'll post those later too.
I'm satisfied at the moment. I' ve downloaded eZDrummer with the Metal Expansion, it's the forerunner of the DKFH, as far as I know.
The eZDrummer has all the "typical" Metal grooves and some special ones. So I take them and customize the rhythm in my sequencer. I could record and upload an example, if anyone's interested.
