Guitar Player's Thread

Argh!!

Ok, I've been working on my "song" and I decided the intro was really weak, so I through it out and I'm left with a couple parts and I really don't know how the fuck to structure this into a song. I like the stuff I have, but I just don't quite know how to fit into a song.

check it out and lend me your advice if you will: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4n2c53

sounds cool, i would copy bars 17-24 and add in the drum line constant double bass withough that brake for snar and add every 4th crush or highhead or maybe every 8th and then go in to complitley new idea of riffs for vera in the same key or maybe modulation donno you decide
and that intro that would repeat some way in chorus later on

I recorded a vid with my new phone, basically playing the same stuff i played in the last vid (that's what i practice, so that's what comes out  ) I also throw in some five string sweeps which i recently started practicing. I think you have to use VLC to view it, i couldn't get it to work with WMP.

Hey, very nice start actually. Just keep building on it and making variations... and check other tabs/songs to see some song structures if you're struggling.

Finished my 'epic' song i was writing ^_^ Well, 95% anyway.

:OMG::OMG::OMG:fuck it's great!!!!do you have plans for recording it??if you don't you should reconsider it,really.it's awesome man!

Sounds pretty decent, I normally just use Marshall Big Bottom tone from the metal pack as it has decent rythym and lead tones imo. I'll see how it turns out.

It's actually pretty hard. What would normally sound like a good tone, might not work at all in the mix, and what would sound like a decent tone, could be the best option.

Try around a bit, record a riff from your song with different presets, and choose the tone that actually sounds the best mixed, regardless of how it feels when you play.

From my experience, a lead tone differenciates alot from a rythm tone, so try around, post some examples here and get feedback.
