because most situations in life aren't "black & white", logic and objectivity have a tendency to throw emotions to the curbside (emotions are a real phenomena in life that we need to deal with), even when looking at something objectively it's always done so subjectively, and alas - telling yourself to suck it up and stop being a pussy is just repression. i don't think i have to explain how repressing emotions manifest themselves in one way or another - usually negatively.
