I hate deciding on this stuff so early (even though we have to). But you know better than anyone, you never know what shit can happen between now and then. You lost your job, my company CEO resigned last Friday and our stock is just plummeting...right now, I'm waiting for dust to settle.

Oh yeah, totally. It would be nice to be able to ensure that 100% of what you need (airfare, exact hotel, fest tickets, etc.) would be available a week before the fest, but as with all Euro fests, it's unfortunately impossible to have the luxury of such choices.

Yep, and if I had booked airfare, I'd really be up the creek without a paddle. I'm just now starting to climb out of the fog and depression associated with such a rotten & sudden life changing event. If I can soldier up and march back into battle as soon as these wounds heal, anything is possible.

Yikes - was there some kind of event that led to such drastic changes? Best of luck in avoiding any kind of layoff. Do you have seniority (or at least not the low man on the totem pole) in terms of longevity with the company?
