I was talking to some fan club chums and they say death and black metal are were it is at now but none of these bands ever make it big like the trash boys did The metal scene is no way as big as what it was in fact it is crap now

making it big has nothing to do with it; dig deep underground and you'll see that the thrashers are still dead and kickin

I still don't get what anyone means by "dead'? Like when people ask "is metal dead?" Do they mean when it's out of the mainstream completely, or when no-one is listening to it? Cause obviously it will have fans for a longass time.

modern thrash is dead cause there really aren't too many great aspiring thrash bands but on the whole thrash can't die as long as old bands make good albums and in the case of metallica and slayer...thrash has become a lamb that escaped slaughter but with one leg three bleeding stumps one eye a mutilated face and herpes (the herpes adds that extra kick) and is hanging by it's intestines from the top of the motherfuckin barn. though i do hope metallica makes a good album again.

There are plenty of new thrash bands carrying the old school torch, you just have to look for them.

THRASH NOT DEAD.

Here's some newer thrash or thrashy bands that rule. I'm sure Necuratul or someone could produce an even longer list.

Alastor
Bestial Mockery
Buried God
The Crown
Crucified Mortals
Death Beast
Deathrider
Dekapitator
Desaster
Destroyer 666
Enforcer
Gama Bomb
Gospel of the Horns
Hammerwhore
Hatework
Hypnosia
Nocturnal
Oppression
ReDimoni
Sauron
Toxic Holocaust
Usurper
Vindicator

Ok, so they're all not "pure" thrash, but they are thrash at their core.
